Tensions Waver as Iran Pledges Passage and Trump Issues Warning

The volatile situation in the Strait of Hormuz saw a shift on Wednesday as Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced it would facilitate safe passage through the strategic waterway.

This development follows President Trump’s decision to pause U.S. military escorts for merchant vessels in the region. Iran Outlines Maritime Cooperation In an online statement, the Revolutionary Guard's navy command expressed appreciation for the cooperation of vessel owners and captains navigating the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The statement suggested that "safe and sustainable transit" would be facilitated under new, though largely unspecified, procedures. The Guard noted that these measures were possible due to the cessation of "aggressors' threats," signaling a potential de-escalation in maritime hostilities—provided vessels adhere to Iranian regulations. Trump’s Ultimatums: A Deal or "Epic Fury" The diplomatic outlook remains precarious, however, as President Trump quickly tempered the news with a stark warning.

While acknowledging that a successful agreement would end the current U.S. military campaign—which he termed "Epic Fury"—and lift the "highly effective Blockade," he made it clear that the alternative was renewed conflict. "Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to... the highly effective Blockade will allow the Hormuz Strait to be OPEN TO ALL, including Iran," Trump posted online.

However, the President underscored the severity of the situation if negotiations fail, stating that U.S. bombing would resume at a "much higher level and intensity than it was before."
