Khalilur Rahman Meets Trump at the UN

Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman is currently serving as the President of the United Nations General Assembly. During yesterday's ongoing session of the Assembly, US President Donald Trump delivered an address. On the sidelines of the event, the two leaders met.
Khalilur Rahman shared a photograph of the meeting on his personal Facebook page, writing in the caption: "Personal exchange of views with His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States."
Yesterday, Assembly President Khalilur Rahman opened the general debate of the 81st UN General Assembly session with an address highlighting the necessity of UN reform.
In his speech, he noted, "The UN is not perfect, but it is indispensable, and imagining an alternative to it is impossible."
In a Facebook post, Khalilur Rahman elaborated: "In my opening remarks, I emphasized the need to identify areas where the UN falls short, reform ineffective mechanisms, and include the perspectives of all stakeholders in the dialogue."
"Trust is not given freely; it must be earned," he added.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of Bangladesh is participating in this UN General Assembly session and is scheduled to deliver his address tomorrow.
