Iran has publicly stated that it has made progress in talks with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

On Monday, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that discussions are underway with Oman over creating a temporary route for ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Until a permanent agreement is reached, the separate routes in Iranian and Omani waters will be combined to form this temporary passage.

Although temporary, the introduction of a single shipping lane in the strait could be a first step toward building trust between Iran and the United States.

However, Iranian officials have made it clear that there are currently no direct negotiations with the United States over the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite increased diplomatic activity, Iran has stated that its military deterrence remains in place. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has said it is ready to respond to any threat.

At the same time, regional mediators, including Qatar and Pakistan, are actively working behind the scenes. This suggests that while military tensions persist, diplomatic channels remain open.

On the other hand, the US Central Command has said that American forces are fully prepared to protect commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
