Dr. Khalil meets Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov in Manila

Dr. Khalilur Rahman held a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Manila, the Philippines.
The meeting took place today (Wednesday, July 22) on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
During the bilateral talks, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov led their respective delegations. Bangladesh's Foreign Minister was accompanied by the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser, Humayun Kabir.
The two ministers discussed the existing cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia, particularly in the energy sector.
The Russian Foreign Minister congratulated Bangladesh's Foreign Minister on his election as the President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Sergey Lavrov also praised the newly formed Bangladesh-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group for institutionalising cooperation on legislative matters.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
