India's Sonia Gandhi hospitalized

Sonia Gandhi, the former top leader of the Indian National Congress, has been admitted to a private hospital.
The 79-year-old Rajya Sabha MP was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Wednesday morning. The veteran Congress leader has served as a Lok Sabha MP five times. News agency ANI reported that she was admitted for a surgical procedure.
Details regarding the specific reason for the surgery have not yet been disclosed. Sonia Gandhi has been facing health issues for several years and has been hospitalized on multiple occasions. In March of this year, she was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. Prior to that, in January, she was hospitalized due to lung complications exacerbated by the cold and pollution in Delhi, experiencing slight breathing difficulties and asthma.
