Trump and Xi Discuss ‘Middle East and Ukraine’

U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have discussed the current crisis in the Middle East stemming from the war involving Iran, as well as the complexities of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China said in a statement that the two leaders exchanged views on Thursday following the Beijing–Washington meeting at the Great Hall of the People.
According to the statement, the two heads of state discussed the situation in the Middle East, the Ukraine crisis, and major international and regional issues, including the Korean Peninsula. No further details were provided.
Earlier, Trump and Xi held talks for nearly two hours amid heightened tensions caused by the Iran war.
Reacting to the meeting, President Trump said only that he had a “fantastic” discussion with Xi Jinping. He did not respond to follow-up questions about whether Taiwan was discussed.
