US President Donald Trump has threatened to completely withdraw American support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, American news outlet Axios reports.
According to Axios's report on Monday, Trump told the news outlet in a telephone interview that he had warned Netanyahu about this matter.
Trump told Axios that if Netanyahu drags the US into another war with Iran, the United States will no longer support his country.
In a previous phone conversation, Trump had insulted Netanyahu, calling him a "total idiot." Trump also confirmed the truth of that report to Axios.
Meanwhile, BBC's North America editor Sarah Smith reported that Trump told her on the phone on Monday that he had urged the Israeli leader to use "common sense."
The US President told Sarah Smith that he is "very close to signing a strong deal" with Iran.
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf said due to Israeli attacks in Lebanon and the naval blockade of Iranian ports, the United States and Israel have now become legitimate targets for them.
On Sunday, he wrote on social media platform X, "They (the US and Israel) are not committed to a ceasefire and do not believe in dialogue."
