Municipal Mayor Killed in Israeli Strike in Lebanon

Ali Badi, the mayor of the Ar-Rihan municipality in Lebanon’s southern Jezzine district has been killed in an Israeli strike.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), he was killed in an Israeli attack on Saturday morning. Details of how the mayor was killed were not immediately available.
Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli military (IDF) carried out drone strikes targeting the municipalities of Ar-Rihan and Kfar Hounah in the Jezzine district of southern Lebanon.
The NNA also reported that the IDF struck a van in Kfar Houneh, although details regarding casualties or damage were not immediately known.
A separate Israeli attack was also reported in the southern Lebanese town of Khiam.
Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon intensified from Saturday morning.
Air strikes were carried out in the town of Khiam in the Marjayoun district, while a drone strike targeted the town of Qsaibeh in the Nabatieh district.
The town of Al-Sarirah in Jezzine was also targeted in multiple attacks, while shelling was reported in Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district.
