Dr. Khalil holds meeting with Philippine foreign secretary
Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman met with Philippine Foreign Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro
Dr. Khalilur Rahman met with Philippine Foreign Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro in Manila on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.
The meeting took place on Friday.
The two foreign ministers discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including cooperation in the nursing sector, visa facilitation for medical tourism, business expansion, and family reunification.
Foreign Minister Dr. Rahman sought the Philippines’ support, as the current ASEAN chair, for Bangladesh’s efforts to become an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner and for achieving a sustainable solution to the Rohingya crisis. Both ministers also emphasized increasing economic engagement between their respective countries.
