He had set foot in college at just 10 years old. And now, that young man has made history by becoming the world's youngest college teacher at only 18, setting a world record. His name is Nathan Thomas.
Guinness World Records recently confirmed that when Nathan, now 21, started teaching at Miami Dade College in Florida in August 2023, he was exactly 18 years and 346 days old.
By starting his teaching career at just 18, he secured the title of the youngest professor in history in the male category. This record had been held for a long 306 years by the renowned Irish mathematician Colin Maclaurin.
Colin became a professor in 1717 at the age of 19. Moreover, Nathan surpassed Alia Sabur, who set the record for the youngest female professor in 2008 at 18 years and 362 days, by reaching this unique milestone 16 days younger than her.
Nathan Thomas's academic journey began when he was just 10 years old. At that time, he enrolled at Miami Dade College. Later, at 14, he transferred to Florida International University. By the age of 18, he had completed his master's degree in electrical engineering.
Currently, he is studying law at the Miami Law School while also taking online classes. He is expected to complete his legal education in 2028. In the future, he plans to work on law related to STEM-focused intellectual property. Source: UPI
