Nine Palestinians Killed by Israeli Fire in Gaza
A senior Hamas police official was also among those killed
At least nine Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks and gunfire in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, Gaza health and police officials said. The dead included a 10-year-old child and a senior Hamas police official.
According to Gaza health officials, more than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect in October.
Although the ceasefire has halted major fighting, sporadic violence has continued. During the same period, four Israeli soldiers were also killed in attacks by armed fighters in Gaza.
Medics said 10-year-old Muataz Abu Shar was killed by Israeli fire in Rafah in southern Gaza on Tuesday.
