Pakistan Praised for 'Halting' Iran-US War

World leaders have welcomed the peace agreement between the United States and Iran as a major diplomatic success. They have praised Pakistan's role in its efforts to stop the war and facilitate negotiations.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed the US-Iran peace agreement. He described it as a major step towards ending the conflict and reaching a peaceful resolution.

Guterres expressed deep gratitude to the mediating country, Pakistan, as well as to Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other regional countries for their constructive roles in supporting the negotiations that led to the breakthrough agreement.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed the US-Iran peace agreement, describing it as a significant development for regional peace and stability.

In a post on social media platform X, Erdoğan said the agreement between Washington and Tehran is an important step towards establishing peace and stability in the region, and he expressed satisfaction with its outcome.

He praised Islamabad for Pakistan's extraordinary mediation efforts. He also acknowledged the leadership of both the United States and Iran for reaching this agreement.

He further stated, "I would like to express my gratitude for the support provided by Qatar and Saudi Arabia in the diplomatic initiatives."

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said in an official statement, "We commend the efforts undertaken so far by Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other mediating countries."

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote on X: "I congratulate President Trump and the mediators from Pakistan, Qatar, and other countries who have contributed to this breakthrough success. We have long been calling for de-escalation, and this is the progress we wanted to see."
Qatar's Prime Minister Welcomes US-Iran MOU

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has welcomed the agreement between the United States and Iran regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

In a post on X, he expressed gratitude to Pakistan and other regional and international parties for their role in creating a conducive environment to facilitate this understanding. He stated that their contributions were essential to the agreement.

Additionally, many countries including Japan, France, New Zealand, the European Union, and Germany have officially thanked Pakistan and other Arab nations for their mediation efforts in government statements.

Earlier, on Sunday, officials from both the US and Iran announced that they have agreed on a framework to end the war, lift the US embargo on Iran, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. It has been reported that the formal agreement may be signed on Friday in Switzerland.
