Members of the US delegation entered the designated meeting room for the ongoing US-Iran talks in Switzerland. Upon entering, they shook hands with the Pakistani mediators present at the venue.

Speaking at a press conference there, JD Vance said, “Trump has empowered us to find diplomatic solutions to a wide range of problems. The real question is whether we can permanently transform these relationships in the Middle East.”

Vance described Iran as the main driver of regional instability and placed full responsibility on the country. However, he said the two sides had made tremendous progress over the past several hours.

Vance said both countries can now envision a shared future in which everyone can work together to maintain and advance peace and prosperity. President Trump has instructed his team to open an entirely new chapter by fundamentally transforming relations with the Iranian people.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif began addressing the media from the meeting room. At the time, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani was seated to his left, while US Vice President JD Vance was seated to his right.

Qatari Prime Minister Praises the Delegations

In a joint statement alongside U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani thanked both the US and Iranian delegations for their efforts to establish peace in the Middle East.

Sheikh Mohammed said the participants had underscored the importance and historic nature of the step, noting that it carries significance not only for regional security but also for global stability and the world economy.

He expressed gratitude for the leadership and determination that brought the parties together in the meeting room, saying the process marked only the beginning rather than a moment for celebration. He also wished success to all sides and reaffirmed Qatar’s full commitment to supporting the process through to a final resolution.
