A total of 153 civilians were killed and another 243 injured in U.S. military strikes targeting the Houthis in Yemen in 2025, according to a Pentagon review report.

A U.S. official disclosed the figures last Tuesday, saying that all civilian casualties recorded by the U.S. military in 2025 occurred in three strikes carried out in April.

The review was submitted to the U.S. Congress as part of the Pentagon’s annual report on civilian casualties.

The report came into the hands of the Associated Press after an NBC News report. A Pentagon official confirmed the matter to the Associated Press.

However, the official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to disclose the information. He said the report would be formally submitted in the coming months.

The number of civilian deaths increased in 2025 compared with 2024. The Pentagon had reported only two civilian deaths and two injuries from U.S. military operations in 2024.

The three April 2025 strikes targeted Houthi forces. The attacks were carried out in and around Sana’a, the capital of Yemen controlled by the rebels. The Ras Isa fuel port was also targeted.

The deadliest of the three strikes was the attack on the Ras Isa port, where 80 people were killed and another 171 injured.

Later, the Houthi-run Al-Masirah television channel broadcast footage of the aftermath of the attack. Scattered bodies could be seen at the scene.

U.S. Central Command oversees U.S. military operations in the Middle East. At the time of the strikes, it said the objective of the campaign was to cut off the Houthis’ sources of fuel and revenue.
