Major Western
powers have criticized Israel’s recent move to launch bidding for around 1,200
settlement residences in a highly strategic zone of the occupied West Bank.
The
governments of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Canada released
a collaborative declaration labeling the initiative “unacceptable” and
demanding that Israeli official “retract the plans immediately”.
