arrears reached nearly Tk 83,000 crore, causing significant concern for the
government. There is no way to take immediate action because the matter has
moved to the courts, and there are no signs of a resolution.
To overcome
this problem, an alternative path has been chosen: taking initiatives to settle
cases out of court. Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury is set to
begin meetings as early as next week.
