A banned Chhatra League leader who had been arrested in
Nalchity, Jhalakathi, was forcibly freed by his relatives and supporters after
they attacked police. A police pickup van was also vandalised during the
incident. Several police personnel were injured.
The incident took place around 1:30 pm on Sunday in the
Dapdapia ferry terminal area of the upazila.
