HSC examinee died by
suicide at Kamalnagar in Lakshmipur, after becoming depressed over failing in one
subject in the examination. The incident occurred in the Karunanagar area of
Hajirhat Union in the upazila on Saturday afternoon (October 31).
The deceased was identified as Bhumika Rani, daughter of
Ranjit Chandra Das, a resident of the same upazila. She was a humanities
student at Hajirhat Upakul Government College.
