Bangladesh have decided to bat after winning the toss in the Dhaka Test against West Indies. The hosts' eleven has been formed with two pacers, Shariful Islam and Hasan Mahmud, along with three spinners. The visitors have also gone with two pacers and two spinners. Left-arm spinner Joshua Bishop is making his debut alongside the two pacers, Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph. His partners are Jomel Warrican and spin-bowling all-rounder Roston Chase.

Mushfiqur Rahim is not in Bangladesh's eleven due to injury. Mushfiqur got a finger injury during practice on Tuesday morning. Nothing serious was found in the X-ray report. Therefore, it was said that he would be in the eleven. In the end, he was not. Mushfiqur has been replaced by Tawhid Hridoy, who made his Test debut against Zimbabwe last June.

Bangladesh are in 4th place in the ongoing cycle of the World Test Championship. To play the championship final for the first time, the Tigers need to win four more Tests. They have a total of 6 Tests remaining. Therefore, if they can beat the West Indies in both matches, the task will become much easier. West Indies, however, have no such pressure as they are in eighth place in the points table. They want to finish the championship in the top five.

Bangladesh XI: Nazmul Hossain (captain), Tanzid Hasan, Sadman Islam, Muminul Haque, Liton Das, Tawhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nayeem Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Taijul Islam, Shariful Islam.

West Indies XI: John Campbell, Brandon King, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Kavem Hodge, Aamir Jangoo, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, Joshua Bishop, Shamar Joseph, Jomel Warrican, Jayden Seales.
