History is Made: Hridoy's triple century

Collected Photo

On the very ground where he won the U-19 World Cup, he etched a new chapter in history. At Senwes Park in Potchefstroom, South Africa, Tawhid Hridoy struck an incredible triple century. On the fourth day of the unofficial Test against South Africa A, he reached 300 runs and set a new record. Hridoy became only the third Bangladeshi batsman, after Tamim Iqbal and Raqibul Hasan, to score a triple century in first-class cricket.

He had already reached a double century on the third day. On the fourth day, Hridoy steadily inched towards the 300-run mark. In the second session of the final day's play, the batsman finally achieved the coveted triple century. Hridoy made 300 runs off 451 balls. He reached the record by pushing Bester's delivery to mid-on and taking two runs.
