After a tense and closely fought contest, Bangladesh secured a memorable victory in the Sylhet Test. On the fifth and final day of the match on Wednesday, Bangladesh sealed the win early in the morning after breaking the partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Sajid Khan, confirming their triumph.
With a 78-run victory, Bangladesh completed a second Test series whitewash against Pakistan within two years—having previously done so in 2024 in Pakistan, and now repeating the feat at home.
Bangladesh had set Pakistan a target of 437 runs, a chase that would have required a world-record effort. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 358 runs.
With this result, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side secured a 2–0 series whitewash over Pakistan.
