A clash broke out between supporters of Argentina and Algeria in New York’s Times Square a day before their World Cup Group J match.
A video of the incident was shared on Instagram by Bruto Official and later circulated across various social media platforms. The footage shows a group wearing Argentina jerseys and another group dressed in Algeria colours engaging in pushing and physical confrontation.
Earlier in the day, Argentine fans had organised a flag march in Times Square. Similar activities were also held in Kansas City, where the team is based during the tournament.
Local media reported that the situation escalated from a verbal altercation into pushing and kicking. Families, including children, were present at the scene. The video also shows bystanders attempting unsuccessfully to stop the fight. Security personnel later intervened and brought the situation under control. However, it remains unclear whether anyone was injured or arrested.
