The wait is over. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has disclosed the names of those involved in corruption and match-fixing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and has imposed temporary bans on them. After a lengthy investigation into the controversial 2025 BPL season, the board has now moved toward disciplinary action.
The BCB has found evidence of match-fixing against at least four individuals, including one cricketer, in the 2025 BPL. It has also charged another individual with corruption in a different edition of the tournament.
Those accused of violating International Cricket Council (ICC) anti-corruption rules are Mohammad Lablur Rahman, manager of Chattogram Royals; Mohammad Towhidul Haque Towhid, co-owner of Noakhali Express; domestic cricketer Amit Majumdar; team manager Rezwan Kabir Siddique; and cricket organizer Saminur Rahman.
The investigation also found failures to cooperate with anti-corruption inquiries and obstruction of the process. The probe included allegations of involvement in gambling-related activities, failure to comply with demand notices issued under Article 4.3 of the code, deletion of relevant confidential communications, and non-cooperation with the designated anti-corruption officer (DACO).
In addition, the BCB has issued an exclusion order against Saminur Rahman under its Excluded Persons Policy for alleged involvement in corruption during the 9th, 10th, and 11th editions of the BPL.
