World Cup season often triggers a surge in jersey sales, with fans proudly wearing their favorite national colors. However, according to The Athletic, Ghana have produced the most beautiful jersey for this edition of the tournament, with five-time world champions Brazil ranking just behind them.
According to Athletic Ghana’s jersey looks like a massive, colorful spider web, because in reality, that is exactly what it is. The design is inspired by Ghana’s traditional ‘Kente’ cloth, created by ancient weavers who tried to replicate a pattern associated with Anansi, the spider. The story is rooted in their ancient folklore.
Brazil follow closely in second place. According to Athletic Brazil’s jersey is very, very good and it is almost impossible to ruin a Brazil shirt, although Nike tried four years ago. This time, however, they have made a strong comeback. The latest design evokes several of Brazil’s classic jersey, such as the 2004 Copa America edition, while the cut also bears some resemblance to the excellent 1986 version.”
England’s jersey ranks third, while Germany sit fourth in the list. Argentina are placed 13th in the ranking, while France are in 15th position.
At the bottom of the list is Croatia. The Athletic noted that Nike attempted to alter the team’s traditional checkered design but was ultimately unsuccessful.
