Bangladeshis' love for Argentina, Diego Maradona, and Lionel Messi knows no bounds. That affection has now reached distant Argentina itself. The people of that country have come to know Bangladesh—and its people.
To witness this love with their own eyes, Argentine travel writer and content creator Dan Lande is now in Bangladesh. He has brought his friends along. Together with them and Argentina's Ambassador to Bangladesh, Marcelo Carlos, they will all enjoy the Argentina-Austria match on a big screen tonight at 11:00 PM at Dhaka University's Mohsin Hall ground.
They arrived in Dhaka on Monday night and will stay until June 29. During this time, Lande and his team will watch two matches of Argentina. Dan Lande is a popular Argentine travel writer and content creator, widely known by his nickname, Rulo.
With the assistance of Nahiduzzaman Shipon, General Secretary of the Dhaka University unit of Chhatra Dal and Advisor to the Dhaka University Argentina Unity Council, the council is arranging all the viewing arrangements for Lande and his team. The organization's President, Mehedi Hasan, and General Secretary, Misbah Uddin, will take care of all the needs of Ambassador Marcelo and Lande's team.
Misbah Uddin told Agamir Somoy, "We had planned special security arrangements for them. But they themselves said they want to enjoy the match together with the people of Bangladesh. So we will only arrange chairs at Mohsin Hall ground. Then, on the 24th, they will join us in a rally from Dhaka University's Raju Sculpture, and they will also be present at the cake-cutting event celebrating Messi's birthday."
Earlier on Sunday, Nahiduzzaman Shipon met with the Argentine delegation and the country's ambassador. On June 24 at 2:00 PM, the Dhaka University Argentina Unity Council is organizing a flash mob at the foot of the Raju Sculpture to mark Lionel Messi's 39th birthday. The Argentine delegation is also expected to attend that event.
According to a press release from the Argentine Embassy in Dhaka, Dan Lande is accompanied by Argentine creative professionals Manuel Javier Ezcurra Ramón, Martín de Escalada, Martina Joy Gondel, and Santiago Conde.
According to the itinerary, Lande and his team are scheduled to visit the alleys of Old Dhaka, the Dhaka University area, Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall, Amin Bazaar, and various locations in Munshiganj.
Notably, Dan Lande gained recognition in Bangladesh during the 2022 World Cup. At that time, he ran a campaign on social media rallying Argentines to support the Bangladesh cricket team, which added a new dimension to the relationship and friendship between the people of the two countries.
