Messi’s Post
Yesterday was my last match and I have already started missing the sky blue and white jersey. I know I am making the right decision. It was an incredible journey. It was full of joy and also some sadness. But I know for sure that every step I took was worthwhile.
I still have a lot to say. It is impossible to express everything I am feeling in a few words or in a single post. This journey would never have been possible without my family, who were always by my side and supported me. Especially during those difficult times when they were needed the most.
My friends were also essential, as were all my teammates, coaches and their staff. I do not want to forget Diego. He put our country where it deserved to be. As I always say, when he was with us and then from heaven, he helped us with every step we took.
I thank the clubs I played for. Of course, I thank God. Without his guidance and will, we could not even have dreamed of coming this far.
I am incredibly grateful. I love you all very much. I will miss you and I will always be grateful to you for being there for us and for me.
A few minutes after making this post, Messi uploaded a story dedicated to his father. About his father, he wrote, “You cannot imagine how much I missed you last night...”
