What will Brazilian superstar Neymar do after his current contract with Santos ends? He has already said goodbye to international football. However, he is not ruling out either continuing club football in 2027 or hanging up his boots for good. In an interview on his YouTube channel before attending a charity auction at his institute in Sao Paulo, the Brazilian star talked about his future plans.
Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior has a contract with Santos until December 2026. Speaking about this contract, he said, "I don't know how long I will play. I don't have any plan to stop right now, but I'm also not sure how much longer I will last. I have a contract with Santos until the end of December. I want to fully respect that contract and give my best performance wearing the Santos shirt."
The Brazilian superstar added, "Honestly, I don't know what I will do next. December is still a long way off. When the contract ends, I will sit and think about whether to stay at Santos, leave, or stop playing football altogether. But for now, we want to take it match by match. Physically, I am feeling good now, and that is the most important thing."
The forward is continuing to give his best in recent matches for Santos. In the battle to secure a Copa do Brasil quarter-final ticket, Santos will face Remo at the Mangueirão Stadium on Tuesday night. With the first leg ending in a goalless draw, Santos have no option but to win to advance to the next round.
Neymar left for Belém on Tuesday morning to join the team. Regarding his presence on the field and fitness, he said, "Of course I will play, the coach will get my 100 percent performance. I hope to step onto the pitch, help the team, and gift the Peixãos (Santos supporters) a victory."
