The election result was as all had expected and it became clear when the results were announced. Tamim Iqbal won the BCB election with the highest number of votes. He was also elected president. Not only Tamim, but the councillors who were elected from the ad-hoc committee also won. The BCB election commission confirmed the news.
In Category 2, which involves clubs, 76 councillors voted to elect 12 directors. Sixteen councillors had contested for the 12 positions in this category. Among them, former Bangladesh Cricket Team captain Tamim Iqbal was elected as a director with the highest tally of 73 votes.
Four of the 16 candidates lost in the club category election. They are Major Imroze Ahmed, Faiyazur Rahman, Amjad Hossain, and Syed Borhanul Hossain.
In Category 1, which includes district and divisional sports associations, seven of the 10 directors had already been elected unopposed. Voting took place only in Khulna and Barishal divisions. Among these, Mizanur Rahman, owner of BPL team Fortune Barishal, became a BCB director by defeating Muntasir Alam for a post in Barishal. In Khulna division, there were three candidates for two director positions. Shantanu Islam and Shafiqul Alam were elected as directors.
Additionally, in Category 3, which comprises universities and various organizations, Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir had already been elected unopposed as a director.
