Mark Waugh calls Bangladesh's victory special despite missing key bowlers

There were concerns among many about whether Bangladesh would last three days in Darwin. On the contrary, Najmul Hossain Shanto's team responded emphatically by defeating Australia inside four days. Australian legend Mark Waugh has described this win as special.

Speaking on Fox Sports, Mark Waugh said, "In my memory, this is probably the biggest upset in Australia. West Indies beat Australia at Gabba three or four years ago, and that was also an upset. But Bangladesh's victory is special."

Waugh also explained why Bangladesh's win stands out: "This victory, especially considering they didn't have their two best bowlers (Nahid Rana and Shariful Islam), the gap in rankings, and the way they achieved it against a full-strength Australia team- truly is a massive win."

Bangladesh secured this historic victory by executing their plans perfectly on the field. Prior to this, Bangladesh had managed to beat Australia only once in Test cricket — by 20 runs in Dhaka in 2017. This win in Darwin has surpassed even that accomplishment.
