The World Cup final will begin at 1:00 AM Bangladesh time at the New Jersey Stadium. Lionel Messi's Argentina faces Lamine Yamal's Spain. Before this grand football battle, however, the closing ceremony will be electrified by Bollywood stars, Madonna, and Tom Cruise.

Messi to Play in the 2030 World Cup, Too!

The 2026 World Cup final hasn't even happened yet, and already questions are arising: Will Lionel Messi play until the 2030 World Cup? Since the next tournament is the Centenary World Cup and one of its venues is in Argentina, the Argentine magician will have the opportunity to play in front of his own country's fans. Thinking this, he might dream of 2030 even at the age of 43! This is the belief of the biographer of this global star, Guillem Balagué.

The Day of the Young Prince's Ascension to the Throne!

In the town of Mataró, north of Barcelona, in Rocafonda, live some of Spain's poorest, primarily immigrant and working-class people. Fifty percent of the country's population living below the poverty line reside in this area. At one time, the country's far-right politicians compared the people of this region to garbage. Yet, from there, a teenager who just turned 19 is on the verge of world conquest. To win their second World Cup by defeating Argentina, Spain is looking towards the son of Rocafonda, Lamine Yamal.

Language and History Also Unite the Finalists

Argentina's famous writer, the influential Spanish-language author Jorge Luis Borges, in one of his writings analyzing the psychology of Argentine citizens, wrote: 'An Argentine is essentially an Italian who speaks Spanish, thinks like the French, and in his heart, believes himself to be English.'

To understand the meaning of this statement, one must go back to the past. The birth of the Argentine state from Spanish colonial rule in South America, civil wars, the influx of European immigrants—everything combined to give Argentina's population and culture a touch of Europe.

The Course of the Final in Four Battles

Spain and Argentina face off in the biggest FIFA World Cup title fight in history. On one side is La Albiceleste, in fantastic form in attack with a maximum of 19 goals. On the other is La Roja, who have built a steel-tight defense, conceding only one goal throughout the entire tournament. However, in the title-deciding match, a few personal duels could very well decide the fate of the game.

Personal Duels

Lamine Yamal vs. Nahuel Molina: The Spanish teenage sensation has taken the tournament by storm. His primary challenge in the final will likely be Argentina's right-back, Nahuel Molina. While Molina provides attacking width, his defensive responsibilities against Yamal's pace and trickery could dictate the game's flow. If Yamal gets the better of Molina, Spain's right flank could be their primary route to goal.

Julián Álvarez vs. Aymeric Laporte: The Argentine striker has been a relentless force, pressing defenses and finishing clinically. He will be up against the Spanish defensive leader, Aymeric Laporte, who is familiar with many Argentine attackers from his time in La Liga. Álvarez's movement and directness will test Laporte's positioning and defensive anticipation to the limit.

Rodri vs. Rodrigo De Paul: The engine room of the final will be contested here. Rodri, the heartbeat of Spain, dictates the tempo and recycles possession. He will be met by Argentina's tenacious pitbull, De Paul, who will look to disrupt Rodri's rhythm and energy and prevent him from spraying passes to the Spanish forwards. The midfield battle could be the most decisive area of the pitch.
Lionel Messi vs. Marc Cucurella: The greatest of all time will likely drift into areas occupied by Spain's left-back, Cucurella. While Cucurella is a capable defender, stopping a player of Messi's craft on a big stage is another matter entirely. Messi's ability to cut inside, link up with Álvarez, and unleash shots or killer passes will be a constant threat that Cucurella and the Spanish defense must manage collectively. This duel between veteran magic and youthful energy will be one of the key matchups.
