Leicester City will be playing in England's third tier this season. The club is home to Bangladesh's most illustrious football star, Hamza Choudhury. Rumours are swirling that he is moving to a new club for the upcoming season. It has been presumed that Hamza is leaving England for Azerbaijan, and once there, he could make history by playing in next season's Champions League.
A report by Azerbaijani sports media 'OffsidePlus' claims that the 28-year-old Hamza is set to join the country's top club, Sabah FC, from Leicester. However, the matter has not yet been finalised. Neither Leicester nor Sabah FC has made any announcement regarding Hamza's transfer so far.
According to the report, discussions between the two parties had been ongoing for some time, and Hamza has already reached an agreement. If the transfer goes through, he will play for Sabah FC in the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, current Azerbaijan Premier League champions Sabah FC are playing in the Champions League qualifiers this season. Having passed the first two rounds, the team has secured a place in the third qualifying round. If they get past this round, Sabah will play in the Champions League group stage. And, if he joins the team, Hamza could also take the field in Europe's premier tournament.
Hamza's current market value is approximately €4 million. If he eventually moves to Sabah, one will have to wait a few more days to find out the exact transfer fee.
