Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad - PID
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced the government and private Hajj packages for 2027. The standard Hajj package has been set under two government-managed categories and one private-managed category for the pilgrims.
At the same time, on the initiative of the Prime Minister, the airfare for Hajj flights has been reduced by Tk 24,830 compared to the previous year, bringing it down to Tk 1,30,000. This information was disclosed by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad.
He announced the 2027 Hajj packages and guidelines at a press conference organized at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The Minister stated that the 2026 Hajj was successfully completed, and Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah praised Bangladesh's management of the pilgrimage. He noted that under the guidance and close supervision of Prime Minister Tarek Rahman, along with the sincere efforts of all concerned, it has been possible to ensure a well-organized and effective Hajj management system this time.
He said that the Saudi government has introduced several important changes for the 2027 Hajj to make the management more modern and service-oriented. Accommodation, transportation, catering, tents, and other services in Makkah and Madinah have been brought under an integrated service package. Instead of the previous four service packages, there will now be three, and half-board catering has been made mandatory. He expressed hope that this would further improve the quality of services for the pilgrims.
The Minister said that the government is working to ensure an easy, affordable, humane, and expatriate-friendly Hajj management system, in line with the government's electoral commitments. As part of this continuity, it has been possible to further reduce the Hajj flight airfare through the Prime Minister's personal initiative.
He stated that in 2025, the airfare was Tk 1,67,820, while for 2027 it has been set at Tk 1,30,000.
The price of Government Hajj Package-1 has been set at Tk 6,15,263. This package includes accommodation within one to one and a half kilometers of the Holy Haram in Makkah and in the central area (Markazi) in Madinah. In Mina, tents in Zone-2, services according to Service Package-3, and food supply through the Muallim (service provider) will be arranged. Pilgrims will also be able to avail room upgrades and short-term packages by paying additional amounts.
On the other hand, the price of Hajj Package-2 has been set at Tk 5,56,648. This package includes accommodation within two to three kilometers of the Holy Haram in Makkah and within a maximum of 800 meters from Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. In Mina, tents in Zone-5, services according to Service Package-3, and food supply through the Muallim will be arranged. If the hotel is located more than two kilometers away, Salawat (shuttle) bus services must be provided in accordance with Saudi government regulations.
The Minister of Religious Affairs stated that a 'Standard Hajj Package' has been set for private Hajj agencies. The price of this package is Tk 5,13,648. It requires accommodation within a maximum of three kilometers from the Holy Haram in Makkah and within one kilometer from Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. Each room will accommodate a maximum of six people. In Mina, tents in Zone-5, Service Package-3, and food arrangements through the Muallim have been made mandatory.
He informed that no private Hajj package can be announced below the service standards set by the government. All packages must be published on the Hajj Portal and the respective agencies' websites. No package can be announced without including the costs of Dam-e-Shukr (sacrifice for Hajj al-Tamattu), Dam-e-Qiran (sacrifice for Hajj al-Qiran), and catering.
The Minister also said that Bangladeshi pilgrims residing abroad will be able to undergo health check-ups, receive vaccinations, and apply for Hajj visas from the country where they are currently staying. Additionally, the government is working to enable them to travel directly to Saudi Arabia from their country of residence.
He pointed out that Hajj registration for 2027 will begin on September 24, 2026. Pilgrims can complete initial registration by selecting a package on the Hajj Portal and depositing Tk 2,50,000. Later, the remaining amount must be paid within the designated time to complete final registration. The pilgrim's passport must be valid until December 31, 2027. According to the tentative schedule, Hajj travel will commence from April 8, 2027, and the holy Hajj will be performed on May 15, 2027.
