Bangladesh's Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for storms accompanied by thunder and rain in eight regions across the country today (Monday). This information was provided in a forecast for domestic river ports valid from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM today.

The forecast said temporary gusty or squally winds from the west or north-west, reaching speeds of 45 to 60 km/h, along with rain or thunder showers, may occur over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Barishal, Noakhali, Comilla, Chattogram, and Sylhet. River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist Cautionary Signal No. 1.

Meanwhile, the 24-hour forecast starting from 9:00 AM today indicates that light to moderate rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning, may occur in some parts of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, and in one or two places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of the country. The report also mentions that daytime temperatures may rise slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
