Biman Makes Emergency landing in Dhaka after wheel detaches following takeoff from Cox’s Bazar

A rear wheel of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for Dhaka detached shortly after takeoff from Cox’s Bazar. The aircraft later made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. The airport’s runway was closed for about half an hour following the incident.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. The aircraft was Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-436, registered as S2-AKE.
According to reports, one of the aircraft’s rear wheels detached shortly after it took off from Cox’s Bazar for Dhaka. After becoming aware of the problem, the pilot sent an emergency message to Dhaka Tower. An emergency landing was subsequently declared at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport as a precautionary measure.
The airport runway was closed to manage the situation. According to information from Dhaka Tower, all aircraft takeoffs and landings were suspended from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Bangladesh time.
The aircraft subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew on board were reported to be safe.
The runway closure temporarily disrupted flight operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Air traffic resumed after the situation returned to normal.
