Fire breaks out in garbage pile at Shahjalal International Airport

A fire broke out in a pile of garbage adjacent to Gate No. 8 of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The Fire Service received the report around 9:20 PM on Saturday. They were able to bring the fire under control by 10:20 PM.
Two units of the airport fire station worked together to douse fire. None was hurt as per sources at the fire service.
Rashed Bin Khalid, Duty Officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, said that upon receiving the report, their two units quickly reached the spot. Although there was no fire in the cargo village, firefighters spotted smoke coming from the nearby garbage pile and began efforts to bring it under control.
It could not be immediately confirmed how the smoke originated in the garbage pile.
