290 officers promoted to deputy secretary simultaneously

A total of 290 officers have been promoted from Senior Assistant Secretary to Deputy Secretary. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding the promotions on Monday.
The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Nur-e-Alam, said these officers have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Secretary of the government and appointed as Officers on Special Duty (Deputy Secretary) in the Ministry of Public Administration. The order, issued in the public interest, will take effect immediately.
According to sources at the Ministry of Public Administration, the promotion notification lists the names of 262 officers. In addition to them, 15 officers of Senior Assistant Secretary rank serving on deputation at various embassies and missions abroad, and another 13 officers who are currently on leave, have also awarded promotions.
Under the current national pay scale, Deputy Secretaries are Grade 5 officers of the government. Accordingly, they receive a salary ranging from Tk 43,000 to Tk 69,850, along with other allowances and benefits.
