Red-Carpet Reception for the Prime Minister in Beijing

PM Tarique Rahman reaches Beijing, China on Wednesday afternoon.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon on a five-day state visit to China, where he was accorded a red-carpet reception by the Chinese government. He was accompanied by his spouse, Dr. Zubaida Rahman.
According to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, earlier in the day the Prime Minister attended the Summer Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Dalian. At 2:00 pm, he departed for Beijing by high-speed train from Dalian North Railway Station.
Upon his arrival in the afternoon at Chaoyang Railway Station in Beijing, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh was received by China’s Customs Minister Sun Meijun, and was given a guard of honour.
From the railway station, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was taken in a special motorcade to the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, where he will be staying, according to Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
As per the itinerary, on Thursday afternoon the Prime Minister of China, Li Qiang, will formally welcome the Prime Minister of Bangladesh at the Great Hall of the People. A bilateral meeting led by the two Prime Ministers will follow.
In addition, on Friday the Prime Minister of Bangladesh will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People. Senior leaders of the ruling Chinese Communist Party are also scheduled to hold meetings with the Bangladeshi Prime Minister.
