Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Holds Meeting with Anwar Ibrahim

Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a private meeting with Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The two leaders met in a tête-à-tête today (Monday) at 9:30 AM local time on the fifth floor of the 'Perdana Putra' building, the Malaysian Prime Minister's office.
Prior to the private meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman signed the guest book.
Following the private meeting between the two leaders, a high-level bilateral meeting between the two countries will commence. The Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and Malaysia will lead their respective delegations in this meeting.
The meeting will be attended by Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, State Minister for Power and Energy Anindya Islam Amit, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir, Economic Advisor Rashed Mahmud Titumir, Education Adviser Mahdi Amin, and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, among others.
The Foreign Secretary said discussions during the meeting would cover enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, including trade and investment expansion, energy cooperation, the halal economy, manpower export, the semiconductor industry and agriculture, education, and people-to-people connectivity.
After the bilateral meeting, both leaders will participate in a formal joint press conference. Following the press conference, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, his spouse Zubaida Rahman, and accompanying delegation members will attend a luncheon at the Malaysian Prime Minister's official residence.
During this time, renowned Malaysian artists will perform cultural programs featuring songs in both Malay and Bengali languages.
Earlier in the day, at 8:30 AM local time, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his spouse Dr. Zubaida Rahman arrived at the 'Perdana Putra' building in Putrajaya with a motorcade escort from the Shangri-La Hotel. They were warmly received by the Malaysian Prime Minister and his spouse, Dato' Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Subsequently, a well-arranged contingent of the Malaysian Armed Forces presented a guard of honour to Tarique Rahman and Zubaida Rahman amid a red carpet reception, during which the national anthems of Malaysia and Bangladesh were played. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inspected the guard.
After the reception ceremony, Tarique Rahman introduced the accompanying delegation members to the Malaysian Prime Minister. Similarly, the Malaysian Prime Minister introduced his cabinet members to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
