Another new rainbelt may strike the country toward the end of this month. However, for now, the overall weather is likely to remain mostly dry and partly cloudy.
This information was provided today, Sunday, in the forecast of the private weather organization, Bangladesh Weather Observation Team Limited.
The forecast said that due to a low pressure area located in the north-central Bay of Bengal, the sea is going to be rough. A warning signal may be issued for the country's seaports very soon.
On this autumn day, the sky may remain partly cloudy in most parts of the country. Although cloud cover may be somewhat greater in coastal areas, the sky in the northern region will remain nearly clear.
Today, there is a possibility of light rain in some areas of the country's southeastern region, especially in Cox's Bazar and Bandarban districts. Apart from this, although there is a slight forecast of thunderstorms in other areas, there is no risk of Nor'wester or hail storm.
According to data provided by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) for the 24 hours ending at 6 pm Saturday, the highest rainfall of 3 millimeters was recorded in Cox's Bazar.
The Weather Observation Team said there is currently no possibility of a heatwave. However, somewhat muggy heat may be felt during the day in several areas of the country. While normal sunshine may last about 6 to 8 hours during the day in the northern region, in the southern region sunshine may not last more than 3 to 4 hours due to clouds.
In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at Sitakunda at 35.20 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the lowest temperature was 17.70 degrees Celsius in Tetulia.
With the arrival of autumn, light to moderate fog may form in the river basins of the northern and central regions of the country in the early morning. The movement of clouds in the air is flowing somewhat erratically from the southwest to the northeast.
Today in the capital, the sun rose at 5:58 am and sunset will occur at 5:24 pm. The length of the day will be 11 hours 26 minutes. From the central region of the country, the sun will be positioned at exactly 33.10 degrees south at noon.
