Heavy rain forecast for four divisions

As the impact of the active rain belt begins to weaken, the intensity of rainfall across the country has decreased somewhat. However, cloud activity and rainfall may remain relatively high in Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions on Sunday.
The information was provided in a forecast by private weather agency Bangladesh Weather Observation Team Limited.
According to the weather forecast, skies across most areas of the country will remain partly cloudy to mostly cloudy today. There is a strong possibility of scattered moderate to heavy rainfall in several areas of Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions. Elsewhere, light rain may occur at one or two places in other divisions.
As the rain belt becomes less active, daytime temperatures may rise slightly in most parts of the country, while nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged. However, some areas of Sylhet and Chattogram divisions may temporarily experience mild heat waves. During breaks in the rain, uncomfortable and humid conditions may prevail across the country.
Meanwhile, areas in the northern and eastern regions that receive rainfall may face moderate to severe lightning. Therefore, people have been advised to move to safe shelters quickly if dark clouds appear or rainy conditions develop.
However, there is no risk of hailstorms or nor’wester storms with the rainfall. Only temporary gusty winds may occur when the rain begins or continues. Around five to eight hours of normal sunlight may be available throughout the day.
The forecast said the northern Bay of Bengal remains completely safe as there is no low-pressure system or other weather system in the Bay of Bengal. No warning signal is currently in effect at sea.
A total of 155 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in Sylhet in the 24 hours until 6:00 pm on September 12. During this period, the country’s highest temperature was recorded at Saidpur at 35.80 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded in Sylhet at 22.00 degrees Celsius.
The sun rose in Dhaka at 5:43 am on September 13 and will set at 6:04 pm.
