Temperature may drop slightly, rain possible in several areas today

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast a slight drop-in day and night temperatures across the country today. Rain or thundershowers may occur in different areas of all eight divisions, according to the forecast issued for the next 120 hours from 9 am Saturday.

On Saturday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and in a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may also occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may fall slightly across the country today, the weather office said.

From 9 am Sunday for the following 24 hours, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Moderately heavy rainfall may also occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country on Sunday.

On Monday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Moderately heavy rainfall may also occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country on Monday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said.

On Tuesday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Moderately heavy rainfall may also occur in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country on Tuesday.

Rain may also occur on Wednesday. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur in a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Moderately heavy rainfall may also occur in some parts of the country. Temperatures across the country may remain unchanged on Wednesday.

The country’s highest temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Rajarhat in Kurigram on Friday. The lowest temperature of 22 degrees Celsius was recorded in Sylhet on the same day.

Sylhet also recorded the country’s highest rainfall of 142 millimeters on Friday.
