Storms with winds up to 60 km/h forecast for seven regions by evening

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast that seven regions of the country may experience temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
The information was provided in the weather forecast for the country’s inland river ports issued on Sunday for the period from 9 am to 6 pm.
At the same time, the river ports in the affected regions have been advised to display Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.
The forecast said, “The regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar may experience temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour.”
It added, “Therefore, the river ports in these areas have been advised to display Local Cautionary Signal No. 1.”
