Asma Zhilik
An actress has been allegedly killed after being thrown from the 8th floor of Bangladesh Medical College in Dhanmondi by her husband.
The victim has been identified as Asma Zhilik. She acted in television dramas and films and also appeared alongside Shakib Khan in the film Rongbaz.
Although the family has alleged that she was murdered by being thrown from a high-rise building, police said they have not yet found initial evidence of murder.
The incident took place on Friday.
The victim’s brother, Mozammel Haque, told Agamir Somoy on Saturday afternoon that Asma Zhilik and her husband Saifullah had gone to Bangladesh Medical College for medical treatment. During an argument there, Saifullah allegedly threw her from the 8th floor, resulting in her immediate death.

Asma’s sister, Reshmi Akhtar Lopa, wrote on her Facebook account: “My dear sister Asma Akhtar Zhilik was thrown from the 8th floor of Bangladesh Medical College in Dhanmondi by her husband at around 1:30 pm on Friday and she died. Just a short while before that, I had a normal conversation with her on video call and we even talked. I cannot write anything more. Please pray for my sister. How will I survive?”
However, Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Saiful said that the inquest report did not initially find any evidence of murder.
Speaking to Agamir Somoy, he said, “We have not found any initial evidence of being thrown and killed. The post-mortem has been completed. A case has been filed and the accused has been arrested.”
