Golden Kalash Awarded to Apu Biswas

Actress Apu Biswas has received a special honor in recognition of her long-standing contribution and performance in the film industry. At the 10th Channel i Music Awards, she was presented with a golden kalash (Pitcher) by the authorities of Channel i. The award was handed over to her on Wednesday by Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar.
Overwhelmed by the unexpected recognition, Apu Biswas became emotional. Later, she shared her feelings in a long post on her official Facebook account.
According to the actress, she suddenly received a phone call from Channel i and went there without knowing the reason. Upon arrival, she saw Faridur Reza Sagar holding a golden kalash prepared for her. For a moment, she said, she was speechless after realizing it was meant for her.
In her Facebook post, Apu Biswas wrote that artists are essentially seekers of love and respect. She said she has never focused on wealth or material calculations in life, but has always sought only people’s love. According to her, the love and blessings of her family, her country, and Bengali-speaking people both at home and abroad have brought her to where she is today.
Speaking about Faridur Reza Sagar, she described him as more than just a television executive. She said Channel i is not merely a TV channel but a place of emotion and affection for artists, and Sagar is like a guardian figure to them. Throughout various struggles, difficult times, and professional challenges, he has always stood beside artists, offering guidance, care, and encouragement.
She further said that the golden kalash holds a value that cannot be measured only in terms of gold. For her, it represents love, respect, a guardian’s blessing, and recognition of her long artistic journey. She described it as one of the most emotional, memorable, and valuable achievements of her career.
Channel i authorities have announced that a special program about the experience of receiving the golden kalash and the story behind it will be aired on June 5 at 2:30 PM.
