Samanzar Sayeed is being crowned.
Samanzar Sayeed has won the crown of Miss World Bangladesh 2026. She was crowned at a ceremony held Saturday at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden. With the victory, she has earned the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at the 75th Miss World pageant, scheduled to be held in Vietnam in August.
Swagata Saha was named the first runner-up, while Labiba Manzur became the second runner-up.
According to the organizers, the winner was selected based not only on physical beauty but also on intelligence, leadership qualities, self-confidence, communication skills, social responsibility and the ability to bring positive change to people’s lives.
Samanzar Sayeed succeeds Aklima Atika Konika, Miss World Bangladesh 2025. The top five finalists in this year’s competition were Ayesha Rahman, Yukta Bhowmik, Labiba Manzur, Swagata Saha and Samanzar Sayeed. Based on the judges’ evaluations, Samanzar Sayeed ultimately claimed the crown.
The judging panel consisted of Shirin Akter Shila, Ifa Tabassum, Rafah Nanjeba Torsa, Mehrin Afroze Chowdhury and Sheikh Saifur Rahman. The results were determined by considering the contestants’ personalities, stage presence, confidence, social awareness, leadership qualities and alignment with the “Beauty With a Purpose” philosophy.
Azra Mahmud, national director and founder of Azra Mahmud Talent Camp, said their goal is not only to select a beauty queen but also to highlight young women who can become inspirations for positive change through leadership, humanity and social service.
She said, “This is not just the debut of a new winner, but also the beginning of a new vision for Miss World Bangladesh. We want a winner to possess not only a crown but also the power to bring positive change to people’s lives.”
The international competition marking the 75th anniversary of Miss World will begin Aug. 9 in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The monthlong event will conclude with its grand finale on Sept. 5 in the city of Nha Trang, where Samanzar Sayeed will represent Bangladesh.
