According to Bollywood-based media outlet Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor is set to begin shooting for Brahmastra 2 around January 2027, right after completing Nitish Tiwari's Ramayana.
A huge surprise awaits regarding Ranbir Kapoor's character in the sequel. The film will not only feature him as "Shiva," but audiences will also see him in the role of "Dev"! This means the Bollywood star will take on the immense challenge of playing a dual role in the movie.
However, the biggest news is that Bollywood queen Deepika Padukone is set to join the franchise's second installment. Director Ayan Mukerji has chosen Deepika as the top pick for one of the most powerful and important characters in Brahmastra 2—"Amrita."
A close source from the production team revealed that the character of Amrita is extremely serious and impactful. Bringing it to life requires a strong and skilled actress like Deepika. Initial discussions with her have already begun. An official announcement will follow once the schedule is finalized.
The first part, released in 2022, grossed approximately Rs400 crore worldwide. At that time, alongside Ranbir and Alia, the film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy, and a special appearance by Shah Rukh Khan, all of whom captivated audiences.
