Rafiath Rashid Mithila
Popular actress and development worker Rafiath Rashid Mithila has taken her two-decade career in the international development sector to a new level beyond the glamour of the entertainment industry. After working globally for BRAC International for 15 years, she has left BRAC and joined the prestigious Columbia University in the United States as a researcher.
Mithila recently announced the professional achievement in an emotional post shared on her social media.
Mithila has joined the renowned Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at Columbia University as an Associate Research Scientist. She has been given the responsibility of directly leading the design and evaluation of the Early Childhood and Family Hub project based in New York.
Speaking about her new role, Mithila said the project works on early childhood development, family engagement and community health. It connects families with children from birth to age five with the environments and global resources they need to grow up healthy and well. She expressed hope that her two decades of global experience working at BRAC will play a major role in bringing together international research in this field.
Alongside her research at Columbia, the star also highlighted another achievement. She has started teaching as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the City University of New York in New York. There, she is teaching students about nonprofit management. Through the course, she will introduce students to practical knowledge of the work of NGOs and nonprofit organizations alongside academic learning.
Mithila expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her former employer BRAC for standing by her throughout the long period of her career. She said the opportunity to work at Columbia University, which has one of the world's leading research infrastructures, will further enrich her professional experience. She sought prayers and well wishes from her fans and well-wishers.
As she dedicates herself to this new chapter of higher research and teaching, the versatile star is currently staying somewhat away from the world of lights, camera and action.
