Television actress Tania Brishty has recovered and returned to shooting after a 10-month struggle involving a brain tumor and complicated surgery in Chennai. Although doctors at one point expressed concern that she might have only four and a half to five years to live, the actress has overcome her fears and difficult treatment process and is now on the road to recovery.

After a long break, she has described her return in front of the camera as her “second birth.”

In a recent interview, Tania Brishty spoke in detail about her illness, lengthy treatment process and feelings about returning to shooting.

In December last year, Tania Brishty suddenly developed a severe headache while shooting for a drama. Despite the pain, she continued working for four consecutive days. On the fifth day, she began vomiting severely and was rushed to a hospital. Medical tests revealed a tumor in her brain.

She initially underwent surgery in Dhaka. However, as complications increased, she was taken to MGM Hospital in Chennai. When an oncologist there told her that she might have only four and a half to five years to live, she was emotionally devastated.

During the second surgery, her condition became so critical that she had to be placed on life support. However, she said the tireless care of her mother and sister, the prayers of her family and colleagues, and her own mental strength helped bring her back from the brink of death.

Despite doctors’ strict advice and two months of chemotherapy still remaining, Tania sought permission to return to shooting after repeatedly requesting her doctors. She feared that staying at home would cause her to become emotionally distressed.

She recently returned to acting through the drama Angshidar, directed by Iksan Rony. Set against the backdrop of family property and financial transactions, the drama features her as a character named Sumi. Following her father’s death, Sumi becomes involved in a family dispute with her uncle. On the first day of shooting, the director, cinematographer and entire production team took special care of her physical condition.

After enduring various physical difficulties following brain surgery, actress Tania Brishty has now returned to a largely normal life. She wants to rebuild her life with the same enthusiasm she had in 2012.

Leaving behind rumors of her death that circulated during her illness, she has also shared a message for people suffering from serious diseases. She said they should not lose hope upon hearing the name of a disease. Instead, they should face the difficult battle with strong mental resilience, proper dietary habits and family support.
