Adhora quits Zayed Khan’s film because of director

Zayed Khan and Adhora

Actress Adhora Khan was supposed to star opposite Zayed Khan in the film Violence. However, she has ultimately withdrawn from the project. In a Facebook post on Sunday, the actress confirmed the decision and explained why she left the film.

Adhora said, “I withdrew from the film a long time ago because of the director’s unprofessional behavior and lack of proper communication. Although the relevant parties were informed of the matter, they have not made any official announcement. So, I am clarifying my position to answer questions from my fans, well-wishers and respected journalists.”

Explaining why she had remained silent until now, she said, “I remained silent all this time because I did not want my statements to negatively affect the ongoing shooting of the film or the work of my fellow actors and crew members involved in it.”

However, Adhora also claimed that the film had caused her significant financial and professional losses. She said, “While waiting for Violence, I was unable to accept several important international work opportunities, including projects in Hollywood. Due to contractual confidentiality obligations under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), I cannot disclose the details of those projects.”

She added, “Because I was unable to maintain the schedules of my other projects and fulfill my professional commitments due to this film, I also received warnings from my casting director and agency.”

Adhora also expressed frustration over attempts to contact her just before filming was scheduled to begin. She said, “It was extremely disappointing for me that they tried to contact me only one day before I was scheduled to shoot for this film.”

Explaining that her love for Bangladeshi cinema had motivated her to join Violence, the actress said, “This experience will remain a major lesson for me. I also consider joining this project without giving deeper consideration to proper professionalism, communication and mutual respect to be a major ‘mistake’ in my career.”

Clarifying the purpose of her statement, Adhora said, “The purpose of this post is not to belittle anyone or harm any film. Rather, I want to clarify my experience and position by answering questions from my fans, well-wishers and respected journalists.”

Concluding her statement, she said, “Mutual respect and professionalism should never be one sided. As an artist, it is also my responsibility to value my time, effort and self-respect.”

Adhora expressed hope that her statement would not be viewed as an accusation against any party but rather as an explanation of her personal experience.
