DB seeks 7-day remand for content creator Nasim

The Detective Branch (DB) detained content creator A.M. Hasan Nasim from his residence. Initial reports suggested that no formal charges had been filed. However, authorities later confirmed that specific charges had been filed against him.
A case has been registered at Gulshan Police Station over allegations of spreading misleading information about the Chief Whip of the National Parliament.
Nasim was arrested in connection with this case, and the Detective Branch (DB) has since sought a seven-day remand for him in court.
The investigating officer, Md. Raihanur Rahman, submitted the remand petition on Saturday. A hearing on the matter is scheduled to take place before Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Jamshed Alam in Dhaka.
Nasim is originally from Patharghata in Barguna district. Professionally, he works as a consultant, providing technical assistance to students interested in higher education abroad, including help with application forms. He also serves as an admin of a popular Facebook page, ‘Patharghata.com,’ where he writes about local issues and irregularities.
